Mfuwe , Zambia Nature Images
Mfuwe Lodge is located in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa's best concentrations of wildlife. The Lodge sits between the Luangwa River and one of its oxbow lakes. Our room looked out over this lake, which at that season was covered with Nile Cabbage. From time to time, the seemingly solid green surface was disturbed by rising hippos. In our family tradition, we usually self-drive and camp inexpensively. For the first time in our lives, we decided to become "tourists" and enjoy the comforts of Mfuwe Lodge for two days. Despite the fact that we were there in the rainy season, the game drives (including night drives) were excellent, and yielded most of these photos.
